47 Claremont

47 Claremont is a Columbia residence hall located just behind Barnard’s campus. This pre-war building was converted to a graduate student residence hall in the 1970's and then converted to an undergraduate residence in 1995.Residents of 47 Claremont have easy access to Riverside Park and can experience residential life while not actually living on Columbia’s main campus.

This building is made up of mostly 7-person suites, with two doubles in each suite.There are a select few 3 and 4 person suites, each with single rooms.Each suite has a full kitchen and bathroom, but no common area.

Groups of sophomores and juniors usually get the seven-person suites, while groups of mostly seniors receive the three and four person suites.
