Wallach
Part of the quad located east of Butler Library, Wallach Hall is one of two residences in the Living Learning Center. The LLC is the only all-class integrated residence at Columbia University. Each suite is a combination of both first-year and upperclass students, which fosters opportunities for students to learn from each other's experience and knowledge. This setup also allows students to interact with others who have agreed to integrate their work experience, co-curricular activities, and academic interests into their living spaces. The street address for Wallach Hall is 1116 Amsterdam Avenue.

Room Selection Notes
Wallach's population is composed of mainly first-year students and sophomores, but a few juniors and seniors live here as well. Because the LLC has its own room selection process, returning students who would like to live in either Hartley or Wallach must apply by filling out an application available from 111 Wallach Hall or online at Student Affairs.
Incoming First-Year, Transfer and Visiting students are not required to complete the additional application. These students should indicate the LLC as their first choice on their housing application. Assignment to the LLC would then be based on availability and time of application.
What Students Say
"Living with upperclassmen in Wallach has helped me a great deal as a first-year. It's great to have people who have [already] been through [their own first year] as a reference, especially when registering. It can be quiet in Wallach, which creates a great study environment. But if you're feeling social, all you have to do is walk out of your room and bother your neighbors."
“The LLC hosts many annual events that are community building. If you are a first year, you will find upperclassmen that live in your suite that [can] be great resources."
